When the socio-political winds of that era blew past Prakash Jha as a seminal influence on his thinking, the stage was set for a seemingly endless journey of socially relevant and politically charged cinema.

A remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, DRISHYAM also stars Tabu and Shriya Saran. It’s directed by Nishikant Kamat (MUMBAI MERI JAAN, 404 ERROR NOT FOUND & FORCE) and is scheduled to release on 31st July 2015. The trailer of the film will be out on 4th June.

On this occasion Farooq Azam gave his wishes to music director Anil Mazumdar, Tina Ghai said “maybe this journey of releasing melodious music goes on and on” and Arvinder Singh rendered few of his own line on Saibaba which means Sai is ultimate. This album is a Vidyyut Music presentation, produced by Usha Mazumdar with music by Anil Mazumdar, arranged by Vasudev Shukla, lyrics by Ravindra Rawal and singers are Pamela Jain, Manoj Mishra, Vaishali, Raj Bajeta, Shivam Sharma & Rakhi, video was directed by Deva with actress Rekha featuring in it, and entire production was controlled by Naresh Ji.
About Anil Mazumdar: He is an Indian composer born in July 7, 1946 in Bangladesh and known for his work on Hindi film soundtracks, and Devotional album, one of his best-known works is film Don. Anil Mazumdar started his career as a musician in 1980 he composed the films music. Bombay film industry as music composers was a turning point. When big music directors like S.D. Burman, Hemant Kumar, Madan Mohan, Naushad, Shankar Jaikishan and Ravi were ruling the Hindi film music world – and it was a golden period of film music – it was very tough to make a place amongst them. Still he came and won the hearts and minds of Indian people. Anil Mazumdar variety-studded music is complete with some of the topmost songs of all singers and genres the factor behind his success is hard work, apart from talent. He had also discovered new talents and groomed them, as well. Shiana NC and Dalip Tahil give away awards at South Asia’s biggest LGBT film festival.
Dutch coming of age film Boys (Jongens) directed by Mischa Kamp won the Best Narrative Feature Film award, while Trans* actor Kristina Hernandez won the award for the Best Performance in a Lead Role for the film Stealth at the 6th edition of KASHISH Mumbai International Queer Film Festival – South Asia’s biggest and India’s only mainstream LGBT film festival. The winners were announced at a glittering award ceremony at Mumbai’s iconic art deco theatre Liberty Cinema on Sunday, May 31, 2015 evening.
The Best Film wins a cash award of Rs 30,000 and the Best Actor wins a cash prize of Rs 20,000 – both sponsored by Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares.
The Best Indian Short Narrative Film award was shared by two films – the Marathi filmSundar directed by Rohan Kanawade and the Tamil film A Full Stop That Searches For Its End directed by Vivek Vishwanathan. The award carried a cash prize of Rs 20,000 sponsored by Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares and a two day shooting kit from Accord Equips.
The Riyad Wadia Award for Best Emerging Filmmaker went to Vaibhav Hatkar for his Marathi short film Ek Maaya Ashi Hi (A Love Such As This). The cash award of Rs 15,000 was sponsored by Wadia Movietone.
The Best Documentary award went to Do I Sound Gay? from the US directed by David Thorpe. The winner receives a cash prize of Rs 20,000 sponsored by Pond5.
The other awards went to Irish film Novena directed by Anna Rodgers (Best Documentary Short Film award that carries prize of stock footage worth $350 sponsored by Pond 5) and 09:55 – 11:05 Ingrid Ekman Bergsgatan 4b (Best International Narrative Short) from Sweden directed by Cristine Berglund and Sophie Vukovic.
Fashion designer and BJP leader Shaina NC was the chief guest of the festival and she also gave away the KASHISH Rainbow Warrior 2015 Award posthumously to lesbian rights activist late Betu Singh. The award was received by Betu Singh’s partner and co-worker Maya Shanker.
Prashant Ingole impressed us with his wonderful lyrics from the Priyanka Chopra starrer MARY KOM last year. He also got us in the party mood by penning ‘Party On My Mind’ from RACE 2. The versatile lyricist, who’s making his mark in the industry, credits his success to Sandeep Singh, ex CEO of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Films.

Mumbai.A feature film ‘The international Problem’ which focuses on Aids and guides the youth on sex education and the truth behind Section 377 has not being made tax free by the government even after more than two years of efforts. Made under Shri Education Films banner, the Writer-Producer- Director Dr. Jagdish Waghela has been running pillar to post at Revenue, Health and Health AIDS dept. The move has received U certificate from the censor board. The makers have written a letter to the President urging the Health Department to review the movie.
“Today AIDS kills less people than the society’s perception of the AIDS patients. I have seen a patient who suffered more than 14 years of AIDS and is still alive. He is supported by his friends and family. I have been Let us see what happens after the President receives the letter. It is to be seen if the Health dept will review the movie or neglect it. I wonder why two govt departments don’t co operate with each other. I will request to Centre Govt. and the Maharashtra government to take appropriate action. This is a movie for social benefit, isn’t it?” says Dr. Jagdish Waghela.
