A Public Image Seminar was held on Sunday, 5th November,2017 at THE ROTARY CENTRE located on Juhu Tara Road. This was well attended by over 75 Rotarians and Rotaractors including a galaxy of Rotary Past District Governors and district dignitaries. The seminar was covered by electronic and print media as well.
The objective of this seminar was to share the branding guidelines of Rotary with Club Presidents and Public Image Directors apart from emphasizing the importance of media collaboration in showcasing the good work being carrier our by Rotary around the world and especially in Rotary International District 3141 covering Mumbai and near by areas up to Dahanu.
Rotary is actively engaged in community service projects which include Wash in Schools (making toilet blocks for school children especially for girl students), toilet blocks on highways, railway station adoption ,Diabetes camps, Pediatric heart surgeries, Literacy including teacher’s training and recognition, E-learning kits , happy schools etc., Vocational counseling and job fairs, SME seminars,Tree plantations & environment protection drives etc. to name a few initiatives.
Rotary is making impact by its presence and support is solicited from media to showcase good work done by Rotary which would help funding from CSR partnership and volunteers through membership enhancement.
District Governor Prafull Sharma stressed on the media and Rotary partnership.
Past District Governor Subhash Kiulkarni as the Forum Leader and Past District Governor Bansi Dhurandar as Assistant Rotary Public Image Coordinator emphasized the importance of strengthening the Rotary brand. Past District Governor Dr.Bal Inamdar, Past District Governor Lata Subraidu and District Governor Nominee Harjit Singh Talvar also explained various ways in building the bridge between media, Rotary and the community at large. This was explained through a brief panel discussion.
Public Image Avenue Chair and Co-Convener Rotarian Vikas Upadhyay spoke on branding and recognitions while Public Relations Avenue Chair for Digital and Co- Convener Rotarian Ravi Jaswani spoke on enhancing public image by Rotarians themselves being the brand ambassador. Public Relations Avenue Chair for Print Media and Convener stressed on how to tell the Rotary Story in the media and create impact. Rotarian Vikram Swaroop spoke on Ethics in Rotary’s Public Image.
It was an enriching experience for all delegates attending the seminar.
