The extravaganza took place at one the plush auditoriums of suburbs suitable for the gala. The award ceremony commenced by capturing the essence of the Indian Rituals by lighting the auspicious lamp as a favorable start and sign of future success for the evening.
The “22nd Lions Gold Awards” was anchored by the very charismatic Siddharth Kannan & Aafreen Vaz who spinned his magic and kept the audience engaged with his wit, energy & charm. Apart from Siddharth’s anchoring the extravaganza also witnessed captivating performance of effervescent & charming troupe performing on Ganesh Vandana seeking blessings and dancing away.
Adding to the merriment the evening witnessed engaging performances which included Akshat Singh who caught the attention of the audience with his electrifying dance moves. Setting the tone for the evening one of the most loved dancing duo Sonali & Sumanth performed and flaunted their moves keeping the crowd entertained.
Holding a penchant for fashion, designer Rohit Verma spinned his magic setting the color wheels in motion in Royal shades. The attendees were left wowed by the models walking the catwalk with inspiring creative colors and stunning styles at the much awaited “22nd Lions Gold Awards”. Rohit Verma’s collection offered a slew of sartorial designs glorifying the theme tulsi in his designs. A true Indian at heart designer, Rohit Verma incorporated luxurious Indian fabrics, color, and texture in his designs with Nisha Rawal and karan as show stoppers
In the arena of professional dancers, we had our very own “Super Star”- Sandip Soparrkar who grooved the tunes of salsa.
The award show paid a tribute to the legendary directorMr.Subhash Ghai fondly known as “The Showman”. The performance made the audience walk down the memory lane by highlighting the essence of his filmography.
Vilas Nayak, who has triumph upon the hearts of the nation with his speed painting, exhibited his talent spreading the message about clean India. And surprised Ranveer Singh by making his portrait in two mins The stage seemed to be the hub of talents with a brave display of martial arts. In keeping with the theme of the evening “Swachh Bharat- Clean India” the event ended with Savy dance group’s performance.

Randeep Hooda goes unrecognized on the sets of ‘Sarbjit’
The National Award winning director Omung Kumar recently kick-started the shoot of his much talked about upcoming biopic ‘Sarbjit’ with his lead actor Randeep Hooda. The duo that is known for their extreme dedication and hard work were recently encountered by an astonishing episode on their first day of shooting.
According to an insider, the method actor Randeep Hooda has taken his role in the movie way too seriously. The talented actor who known to be extremely involved in whatever character he portrays for his projects took an unexpected step of entering the set already as his character. The actor, who is portraying the role of the slain prisoner Sarbjit, decided to ditch his lavish transport and walked his way towards the set, which was located a few miles away from his residence. Enrobed in the prisoner’s avatar, the actor faced quite a bewildering incidence when the security guards of the sets forbad him to enter the sets as they couldn’t identify him. The actor was baffled as to how to convince them till the producer of the movie Sandeep Singh recognized him and stepped into his rescue. The perplexing moment didn’t end there!
It is known that as Randeep entered the set, he quietly went and settled at a corner on the floor to continue to be in his character of a prisoner. The director of the movie Omung Kumar, who was anxiously waiting for the arrival of his lead actor also failed to recognize Randeep who was just sitting a few steps away from him. The confusion took an end, when Randeep shouted out his presence leaving the crew members amazed.
Recalling the incident, the director Omung Kumar says, “It was quite an unpredictable gesture; the dedication and hard work Randeep has put for this role is outstanding. He is known for his method acting but I feel for this role, he has gone beyond his limits. Randeep is a phenomenal actor and I feel this is by far the most challenging and difficult role he has done in his career and I am sure now that he will do justice to his character”
Well with such an episode happening on the first day of shoot itself, we are excited to see what the talented actor Randeep Hooda has in store for all his fans in ‘Sarbjit’.

Year 2016 happens to be the 75th Birthday of the maestro Jagjit Singh. To make the celebrations grand for this Platinum Jubilee, a two day music festival has been announced.
DAY 1 – 7th Feb. 2016
Young ghazal singers will be invited from all over India by virtue of their recordings. The registrations have started. Top 25 singers will be shortlisted by our esteemed panel of jury including JANAB NIDA FAZLI, Smt. CHITRA SINGH, Chairperson, Jagjit Singh Foundation, Shri. SURESH WADKAR and Shri ROOP KUMAR RATHOD.
These chosen aspiring singers will perform in Mumbai on 7th Feb. 2016 at Ajivasan. The day will feature 3 ghazals sung by each singer from 11am till evening. A total of 75 ghazals of Jagjit Singh will be sung. At the end of the day session all the participants will be honoured by the Smt. Chitra Singh and they will be given certificates from Jagjit Singh foundation.
This will lead to enormous enthusiasm among young Ghazal singers to take up ghazal as art form and spread it around the world.
DAY 2 – 8th Feb. 2016
Day 2 will be the Grand Celebration in the form of ‘Jagjit Singh Musical Festival’ attended by who’s who of the music fraternity. This will be a public event featuring performances by legends. The line up includesDeepak Pandit and Ranjit Barot giving a musical invocation of 10 minutes to the commencement of the festival, followed by Ghazal Maestro Shri Hari Haran regaining the audience for 45 minutes with his own unique ghazals and then Shri Suresh Wadkar and Shri Sonu Nigam would give unique rendition of Jagjit ji’s compositions in their own imitable style to relive the memories of maestro’s real music.
The second half will showcase a unique combination titled “Tridhara” which will premier on the occasion. This will feature three streams of art namely Taal Sur & Nritya together featuring Padma Bhusan Ustad Zakir Hussain, Padma Vibhusan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Padma Vibhusan Pandit Birju Maharaj.

GLIMPSES OF KABIR BEDI’S BIRTHDAY IN MUMBAI !
Kabir Bedi who turned 70 yesterday (16th January 2016) had a grand celebration last night in a suburban hotel. Friends and family flew in from all parts of the world to be a part of gathering. What came in as a big surprise for all was the announcement of Kabir and long time partner Parveen’s wedding. They had got married in an intimate celremony in Alibaug on 15th January. A- listers from the film fraternity also arrived to convey their wishes and congratulate the couple.
Celebrities like Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen, Ashutosh Gowariker, Prem Chopra, Adnan Sami with wife, Aftab Shivdasani with wife, Ila Arun, Madhur Bhandarkar with wife, Sudhir Mishra, Lillete Dubey, Madhu, Chetan Hansraj with wife, Arunoday Singh. Kabir also launched the DVDs of his iconic international TV show- Sandokan in India in December.

Indion Idol singer Ravi K Tripathi makes debut as a music director with blessings of veteran Suresh Wadkar for Stair 9 Production’s maiden Hindi film “RED SIGNAL”, on Monday 18th January 2016, at Ajivasan Recording Studio. This film is being produced under the banner of Stair 9 Production, produced by Shadaab & Haroon Rain, Co-producer is Rahul Tripathi, directed by Vijay Verma, music Ravi K Tripathi, DOP Dharmendra Vishwas, lyrics Nida Fazli & Shekhar Astitva, story Karan Thakur, screenplay Rahul Verma & Karan Thakur and choreographer is Amar.
Song was rendered by Kailash Kher, who informed the media that he and Ravi Tripathi had started their carrier almost same time, and he is very impressed by Ravi’s talent, Suresh Wadkar gave lots of blessings and good wishes to Ravi Tripathi as he was his student once, other persons who graced the occasion were actors Chetan Hansraj, Avi Kashyap & Ravi Khanna, who are playing major roles in this film, other cast are Mohan Joshi, Anjan Srivastava, Manoj Joshi, Nalini Negi etc. Rest cast and credits are being finalized, film will go on floor soon.
The talented actress, who was lauded for her performance in the blockbuster movie ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, is all prepared to don a completely distinctive avatar for her upcoming Tamil Movie ‘Dharma Durai’. The gorgeous diva would be starring opposite the prominent southern actor Vijay Sethupathi and will be directed by the national award winner Seenu Ramasamy.
According to an insider, the beautiful actress would be portraying the role of a village girl and after years of gap she would be seen in a completely de-glam avatar. As the subject of the movie is very realistic in nature, Tammanah will be seen in simple clothes sans make up. The shoot of the movie has already kick started its first schedule in Madurai and Tenkasi. It is known that the makers are keeping the plot of the movie under wraps and not much is been revealed yet.

On a chilly Sunday, the team of patriotic film ‘Main Khudiram Bose Hun’ was in for a surprise as acclaimed filmmaker Shivam Nair visited the sets in Mumbai. The ‘Bhaag Johnny’ director gave his best wishes for the film and was very impressed with the storyline. Shivam Nair was curious to know more about this lesser know patriotic leader – Khudiram Bose.
Bhanu Prakash Jha was directing a very crucial scene with actors Rituparna Sen Gupta, Imran Hasnee, Kanishk Kumar Jain, Sushant Sahni and Roopa Ganguli. Writer Dhiraj Mishra and producer Ashok Sahni were also present on the sets.
This was a part of a three-day schedule in Mumbai which ended on 18th January 2016. Other important film sequences will also be shot in Mumbai and other locations.
Actress Rituparna Sen Gupta was quoted, “I am very privileged to be a part of this film as my role is the inspiration behind Khudiram Bose’s great sacrifice for the country. My role of Aprupa Devi is full of passion, sacrifice and most importantly love. I doubt whether people know about this martyr and hence I agreed to play the role.”
About Main Khudiram Bose Hun:
Main Khudiram Bose Hun is a film about Midnapur born Khudiram Bose who was hanged at the age of 18. Khudiram, a teenage student became a martyr by walking on the path of revolution. This freedom fighter would plant bombs near police stations and attack government officials. Eventually, he was arrested on the charges of conducting a series of bomb attacks. The specific bombing for which he was sentenced to death resulted in the deaths of 3 persons.The story is written by Dhiraj Mishra, Directed by Bhanuprakash Jha , Music by Bapi Tutul. And Producer by Ashok Sahni. Rustic locations like Chunar, Mirjapur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Midnapur & Khadagpur have been identified for the film.
