‘In the recent past, many small budget films have created magic at the box office because of their superior storylines. On the other hand, a number of films with big names have failed miserably as they are low on content. The movie ‘Viraam’ falls in the first category as it uses fresh cinematic techniques to tell an interesting story,’ said well-known wrestler Sangram Singh who was the chief guest at the glittering music and trailer launch party of ‘Viraam’ at Flag Banquet and Restaurant in Andheri.
Viraam is produced by Hari Mehrotra under the banner of Hari Mehrotra Production and is directed by Ziaullah Khan. The story of the film revolves around a man called Abhiraj Khanna, magnificently played by well-known actor Narendra Jha. Abhiraj had lost his wife ten years earlier but he still carries her memories with him and leads a sad and lonely life. Then, accidently, a beautiful vivacious girl called Matun crosses his path and his life is changed forever. But, at the end, the things don’t turn out as Abhiraj has planned.
The event was attended by all lead actors of the movie including Narendra Jha, Urmila Mahanta, Monika Ravan, Annapurana Vitthal, Tripurari Yadav. Hari Mehrotra (producer), Aman shan (co-producer), Ziaullah Khan (director), Siddhant Madhav (music director), Tripti Sinha, Arun Singh and Amit Gupta (singers) , Abdullah Khan(writer and lyricist) Azeem Shirazi (lyricist) and Ashish Gaikar(editor) were also present on the occasion. The music is released on Red Ribbon label. The movie marketing and distribution is being handled by Media Magic.

Mumbai, October 30th 2017: Mukul Madhav Foundation, the CSR arm of Finolex Industries Limited, arranged an interactive session between underprivileged children from Samajik Vikas Kendra Social Development Centre, Malad, Mumbai (an NGO selflessly working for the overall development of underprivileged slum/street dwelling children from Mumbai since 12 years), and the cast of Golmaal Again i.e Rohit Shetty, Tabu, Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu. The talented star cast were able to empower and enlighten the children through their acting journeys during the interactive session and created a special memory for the kids for days to come.
These 20 children met with the actors amid much fanfare, as the MMF and Finolex Industries team transported the excited kids from the institution to the venue. The children were able to have an insightful conversation with the actors, who helped them realise that their dreams can become a reality in this life.
On the occasion, Ms. Ritu Chhabria, Director- Finolex Industries Ltd. and Managing TrusteeMukul Madhav Foundation said, “I am really glad and thankful to the stars for turning up and meeting these wonderful kids. Budapesti film festivals which will feature all classics of Hungarian films is on Nov 2 to Nov 5. Film Critic and Director from Bollywood who was recently seen in Budapest will be attending the festival on seeing some new collections.

Debutante filmmaker V.V. Menon’s Haunted Villa Lonavla is the latest addition in the list of horror films. The film instantly got noticed when the trailer of the film was out on U tube. The film is based on real life incident which has been captured in camera very well.
Making a horror film is not an easy task especially for director, but V. V. Menon has left a terror mark with each and every frame which is meritorious. A powerful story based on women foeticide with horror elements will keep the interest of the cinegoers from beginning to end.
Moreover, V. V. Menon has extracted good performances from the cast which comprises talented theatre artistes specially a protagonist Rupa who is also the choreographer.
Even on musical front, there are two numbers which are wonderfully composed by Dharmendra Badori and suits the situation.

Mrityubhoj – The Death Feast I Dir: AkankshaSood Singh I 00:51:59
The film will have its World Premiere at the festival. Directed by national award-winning filmmaker AkankshaSood, “Mrityubhoj – The Death Feast” is a documentary exploring the age-old Hindu tradition of Mrityubhoj – the feast traditionally organised on the last and 13th day of rituals for the dead. Today, Mrityubhoj has become a status symbol and a reflection of any family’s social standing. Set in Chambal, Madhya Pradesh, the film follows VirenderKushwa, who has lost his father and who alongwith his family is preparing for the ‘death feast’. The guest list for their father’s Mrityubhoj begins from a modest 100-150 persons on day one only to end up at 2000 plus (and counting) by the time the 13th day comes around. He is one among many who are compelled to sell/mortgage their lands, take loans and sell meager family jewellery to ensure that the meal is laid out for as many as possible. It is a heavy price to pay for the peace of a soul!

The well-known filmmakers KavitaBehl and NandanSaxena’s latest 52 minute documentary on the widows, highlights their reality; limited existence and makes a silent plea for the dignity and the respect they ought to command from the very society that shuns them. The film questions societal norms and the politics of inheritance and economic entitlement where women always get short-changed. It talks to lawyers who have been involved in improving the lives of these women – 20,000 of them at last count. While about 6000 have found shelter in the ashrams there are countless others who are still on the streets and forced to beg.

The AdilHussain starrer will have its India premiere at WIFF 2017. A gripping film that addresses the taboo subject of Aghoris, while underlining the issue of casteism on the fringes, Feast of Varanasi is quiet, intense and edge-of-the-seat thriller. Based on novel of the same name, the film plot revolves around a young English teacher Helen (Holly Gilbert) who comes looking for her aunt Agatha (Judi Bowker) settled in Kashi. Meanwhile, Hussain playing CBI Officer Arjun Das from Delhi is sent to investigate deaths of five young girls in the city.

Itis an ethnographic documentary on the making of salt in Gujarat, a state which produces 70% of the salt in India. Despite its tremendous everyday utility, “common salt” is usually taken for granted. And salt farmers are hardly the heroes of history or mythology, ballad or legend. This 32-minute film journeys through the lives of Hansaben, Bhawanaben and Pashiben, three women farmers of different ages as they gothrough three stages of salt farming in the Little Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.
