Vodafone Ready for the Big League Award 2014-15
Mumbai. Sanjeev Gupta, Managing Director, Global Advertisers, has won the “Vodafone Ready For The Big League Award 2014-15”, which was presented on March 12, 2015 at Hotel Four Seasons,Worli, Mumbai, after a rigorous screening of over 15,000 businesses pan-India by market analyst McKinsey.
Only 10 businesses across India managed to qualify for the honor, which is given every year to most promising businesses in the country. The awardees get extensive coverage on CNBC, Forbes, Mint and business magazines. Vodafone Business Services (VBS) launched the program in 2014 to catalyse growth of medium sized businesses as the enterprise arm. The Ready for the Big League connects and engages fast-growing medium sized businesses with annual turnover between Rs 50 crore and Rs 500 crore. Business Readiness Scorecard is a web-based diagnostic tool that measures business readiness towards facing future challenges that helps businesses work towards better operational agility, better connected employees and more satisfied customers.”I am delighted to achieve this honor. Mumbai local trains begin automatic doors
Mumbai.Chairman Mr. Manmohan Gupta of Malad(W) based social service organisation ‘Gandhi Vichar Manch’ has been demanding the automatic shutting doors on Mumbai locals to curb deaths. He even held a hunger strike at Malad railway station area on 30 January 2013. People found this demand bit frivolous but now admire Mr. Gupta for his farsightedness. Since the automatic doors have now found favour with the railways, Mr Gupta has thanked them for the installation. “This is a commendable step by the railways. Govt is now thinking about the people. The automatic doors will save lives of thousands of people and benefit their families. People fall from the train and become handicapped or die and the family suffers,” Says Manmohan Gupta.
Mumbai. Sahyog Broadguage Pravasi Trust’s National President Mohd. Kalamuddin Mansuri has urged the govt and railways to rename Bandra Terminus to Mohd Rafi Terminus. He has written them a letter asking for concrete steps on renaming.
He also urged a superfast train to Gorakhpur. “This is the place of Mohd. Rafi who earned a name worldwide. We should remember him. And Gorakhpur requires 2 superfast trains as people travelling to the place suffer like herds. One should be via Varanasi and the other should be via Lucknow. This should bring down the problems for the commuters,” says Mr. Kalamuddin Mansuri.
Gandhi Vichar Manch’s chairman Manmohan Gupta met film star Govinda and urged him to act in or make a Rajasthani movie. Govinda replied that his movie is releasing and will give it a thought after that.
“I wish to make a Rajasthani move with theme Jal (water) is life. After years of independence, the people of Rajasthan face water scarcity. Govt is not paying attention. Water can be reached via dam,canals etc. I want to wake up the government with this film. I met Govinda for the purpose and lets us see what the response is,’ says Manmohan Gupta.
